(15:20:04) mjl-: gdiaz_ios: on automatic reconnect for ircfs. i have thought a little about it. haven't implemented it yet because: 1. i don't need it (my network is pretty stable). 2. the implementation would need to make sure it isn't hammering the irc server, e.g. after an ip ban or something. that would seriously piss off irc admins. (15:20:17) mjl-: why do you need it? crappy network connection? (15:35:00) megaboz left the room (quit: Read error: 110 (Connection timed out)). (15:41:06) sqweek: it's a pain to reconnect and rejoin manually (15:43:33) sqweek: i find it more convenient when programs preserve state except by my command (15:43:49) sqweek: #2 isn't hard to deal with, just wait 5 minutes between attempts (15:53:58) mjl-: yeah i think that makes sense (15:54:12) mjl-: that plus a few simple heuristics for when to really back off (15:54:19) mjl-: auto rejoin is another thing though (15:54:41) mjl-: being able to (re)use windows after a disconnect is high on the priority list too...
