(13:44:35) mjl-: sure is quiet here :) (13:45:05) mjl-: base2design: you want the delete button to kill a process? i wouldn't expect that to work with inferno, but perhaps acme-sac implemented something for it. (13:45:15) mjl-: echo kill >/prog//ctl should work (14:11:21) idr [~idr@g225067069.adsl.alicedsl.de] entered the room. (14:14:27) idr left the room (quit: Remote host closed the connection). (14:23:23) arvindht: DEL doesn't kill processes in acme-sac too (14:28:26) arvindht: http://code.google.com/p/acme-sac/source/browse/appl/acme/acme/bin/win.b does attempt something with 16r7F apparently with no effect. (14:38:19) arvindht: iirc, DEL was mapped differently at a lower level (i may be wrong though) (15:25:09) base2design: prior to now, i've been using inferno from the console (i.e. not with wm or acme-sac) (15:26:10) base2design: the read loop for the console puts stdin into raw mode and watches each keypress... "delete" (127) calls "cleanexit()" which wouldn't be good for acme-sac to do ;) (15:27:10) base2design: i'd been watching some youtube videos on using acme inside plan9, and they mention using DELETE to stop processes, so i made the assumption that wm/sh and acme-sac did the same thing. (15:27:36) base2design: it does seem that "kill" on acme-sac is broken though (15:28:29) base2design: (it's a shell function that uses sed to build a command that echos kill to the processes ctl file... at least that's the intention) (15:33:07) arvindht: base2design: is it a shell function in windows acme-sac too? (15:33:44) arvindht: the shell functions were replaced by the original limbo version in this revision: http://code.google.com/p/acme-sac/source/detail?r=d33bad44a9 (15:33:51) base2design: i'm not on my machine with the windows vm on it so i can't tell you right now (15:34:46) arvindht: (but the OS X dmg (jun 2008) is older than that revision (apr 2009)) (15:35:00) base2design: yeah, caerwyn mentioned the same thing on the list (that is... check out from the repo) (15:36:34) arvindht: ok :-) (15:47:26) base2design: no disrespect intented... thanks for the tip :) (15:50:52) base2design left the room (quit: Remote host closed the connection). (16:02:12) arvindht: oh no problem at all, i was curious and digging through the change log to know when kill was restored. (17:48:36) sl: on brucee's ozinferno page, is he saying you must have an inferno commercial license to request his software? (18:05:47) anth_r: sl: i don't believe so. certainly he's given it to people in the past who don't have such. (18:06:06) anth_r: of course, he's ignored lots of people, too, so good luck. ;-) (18:06:23) sl: ☺ (18:08:59) sl: of course, rangboom.com has been "temporarily unavailable" for some time.
