(04:31:36) sl: when i looked at these before they seemed to credit the editors of associated wikipedia articles, carry the same titles as wikipedia articles, and the sample text seemed to be drawn directly from wikipedia articles.

(11:39:49) mjl-: i've heard a story of some guy publishing "books" by randomly combining snippets of text, perhaps with markov chains or something, and selling them on amazon, by print on demand

(15:00:43) mjl-: i wrote a vacinit.b, a replacement for emuinit.  it sets up the root file system served by vacfs.
(15:01:14) mjl-: it also starts a local venti server to act as a local cache.  and a venti server that is a proxy for a remote authoritative venti server, and the local cache.
(15:02:17) mjl-: vacinit will also have a lookup service, allowing you to easily fetch a venti address+root score
(15:02:52) mjl-: the goal is to be able to download & run an emu binary, and get a full system from that and being able to use it immediately.
