(19:06:21) jas: GriffenJBS: regarding USB access from emu, it depends on which host you're using. (19:07:31) jas: take a look at $ROOT/emu/MacOSX/deveia.c for an example (19:08:23) jas: I use that on OSX for all these little FTDI USB-RS232/422/485 devices (19:09:16) jas: unfortunately, I've not taken the time to figure out how to get the same kind of thing to work on Windows or Linux emus (19:14:01) jas: if you debug the Windows version, please post the results to http://code.google.com/p/inferno-os/ (19:14:25) vsrinivas: jas: works find on Linux as well, i have used it. (19:14:45) vsrinivas: jas: *fine; need to change the baked in /dev/tty* paths though. (19:15:16) jas: ah, I'll take a look at that next week. (19:15:33) vsrinivas: (*need to change them to your /dev/ttyUSB* or w/e;) (19:21:33) jas: figuring out connect/disconnect support for emu would be a nice addition (19:21:52) vsrinivas: yea. (19:25:16) jas: hrm... that could be a manageable GSoC project (19:27:32) vsrinivas: probably smaller than one.... (19:28:06) vsrinivas: (would be useful to have a better deveia though -- at work we've done one which allows dynamically creating eia* devs....) (19:28:11) vsrinivas: (doesn't handle disconnect though) (19:30:54) bugQ [~bug@c-67-171-127-76.hsd1.ut.comcast.net] entered the room. (01:22:19) base2design: jas: on the eia -vs- linux tty front, i've considered a mod to deveia.c to populate at runtime sysdev from a pre-defined config file... this feels very hacky though. osx has a nice way to find connected RS232-ish devices and I know of no non-hacky alternatice. (01:22:29) base2design: (alternatice == alternative) (01:54:41) bugQ left the room (quit: Ping timeout: 240 seconds). (02:01:46) bugQ [~bug@c-67-171-127-76.hsd1.ut.comcast.net] entered the room.
