(12:50:30) mycroftiv: well, it would be nice if there was a prebuilt form of inferno available for people who are intimidated by dealing with source repos, too many people (esp windows users obviously) disregard anything they have to deal with in source form
(12:51:44) mycroftiv: im sure some people think "anyone who isnt comfortable working with source code doesnt care about inferno" but im still a believer in 'plan9+inferno' tools on every desktop

(12:57:38) uriel: anyway, there is a trivial (and sane) way to get inferno on windows: acme-sac
(12:58:02) uriel: that has been the only non-embarrasing way there has ever been, and the only one I mention to people
(12:58:44) mycroftiv: well, dont say 'never happen', i guess 'make up-to-date inferno binaries' is another thing for my list of stuff to host, though i admit ive got a big backlog of stuff i want to do
(12:59:49) uriel: even if you did it, it would make little difference if it is not linked from the inferno homepage
(13:01:45) mycroftiv: well, im not too worried about providing inferno to the whole world necessarily, just for people who might like to use it for hobby gridding
