(20:54:21) powerman: dial -A tcp!localhost!80 { echo '"' } (20:54:47) powerman: echo '"' works just fine, but not within dial's block (20:55:23) powerman: looks like external quotes are lost: (20:55:31) powerman: dial -A tcp!localhost!80 { echo 'x"y' } (20:55:31) powerman: sh: y: './y' file does not exist (21:16:54) visof left the room (quit: Remote host closed the connection). (21:40:03) sqweek: i wonder if it is eval'd twice? (22:10:50) powerman: i worked around by using `dial -A tcp!localhost!80 my_sh_script $params` (22:13:32) powerman: but looks like in most cases for me it's ease to use limbo instead of trying to do something non-trivial with sh. probably something is wrong either with me or with sh. (22:41:00) anth_x: fwiw, sh feels much less "regular" to me than rc. (22:45:33) powerman: inferno doesn't have rc, isn't it? (22:51:55) anth_x: no (22:57:17) olegfink: I always thought sh was pretty close to tcl which is one of the most regular (at least syntax-wise) languages out there (after lisps) (23:28:25) jmpnz left the room (quit: Quit: jmpnz). (05:08:42) powerman: good news for everybody who love to manually type troff just like me: I've implemented asciidoc config for generating inferno/plan9 man pages. as far as i see, it generate correct troff, which looks nearly same and typed manually. all features which I see in existing man pages are implemented. (05:09:18) powerman: to use get http://powerman.name/download/asciidoc/man.conf, save to /etc/asciidoc/, and run `asciidoc -d manpage -b man yourmanpage.txt` (05:10:11) powerman: example man page in asciidoc syntax: http://powerman.name/tmp/re2.txt will generate this troff: https://code.google.com/p/inferno-re2/source/browse/man/2/re2 (05:10:28) powerman: huh. good night (05:12:11) powerman: s/and typed manually/as typed manually/ (05:41:11) mkmks left the room (quit: Ping timeout: 265 seconds).
