(07:10:49) base2design: limbo is pretty nice... i'm liking it more and more. (07:11:19) base2design: it felt verbose at first, but it's becoming more natural (07:35:50) hotaru2k3 left the room (quit: Ping timeout: 240 seconds). (10:34:28) mjl-: base2design: the q doesn't really mean anything (10:35:14) mjl-: base2design: i was thinking about the same type of thing for dis (appending data at the end). but if i were to write the parser for dis files, i would probably make it complain if there was crap past the end of the dis contents. i didn't even bother to check what inferno actually does... (14:37:40) anth_x: base2design: the verbosity is just about right for my mind (14:38:06) anth_x: (with the exception of the up-front boilerplate, which seems way too much) (14:38:41) anth_x: now, off the the vet for a kitty EKG. (15:21:26) base2design: auth_x: i agree... the little "up-front" piece seems a little talky, but it's becoming more natural as i get deeper. (15:21:43) base2design: auth_x: good luck with your kitty! (15:24:48) base2design: mjl: one problem with what i did with appending contents was that one os i ported this to (can't remember which... this was on osx/solaris/various linux/win32, treated the resulting binaries as corrupt (since i totally ignored the native object file format). (15:34:59) bvalek2 left the room (quit: Ping timeout: 265 seconds). (15:43:31) anth_x: the kitty (not mine) is now dropped off. (15:46:04) anth_x: the only other thing that bugs me about every inferno program i write is that they all need to include draw.m, even if they're not graphical. (15:46:52) anth_x: other than that, i love it. (15:47:12) anth_x: there's things here and there, but that's true with any language. that list above are the only points that really bug me. (20:38:41) base2design: anyone here using libixp on the non-inferno side of styx? (20:39:30) base2design: i need a really lightweight c server/client library and p9ports and libixp seem to be the ones (20:46:47) Fish- [~Fish@9fans.fr] entered the room. (21:16:11) mjl-: for the server side, inferno has styxserver(10). haven't used it though (21:30:56) base2design: vsrinivas: i'll have a look (seems like i may have seen that in the past) (21:40:45) base2design: mjl: wow, how did i miss that. looks like there is a dependency on lib9 don't know how much of a hit yet (21:41:38) vsrinivas: styxserver depends on a good bit of inferno. (21:43:49) GriffenJBS: live people, makes me feel all warm inside (21:48:35) vsrinivas: GriffenJBS: :D (21:49:19) GriffenJBS: I'm still not having any luck with inferno-ds, one time I got a copy to boot on an emulator (22:02:02) mjl-: GriffenJBS: if you can put the inferno image you made up somewhere, i can see if it works for me. perhaps that leads to some insight... (22:03:23) GriffenJBS: mjl, you said you used a TTDS right? (22:04:19) mjl-: yes (22:04:28) mjl-: with nintendo ds lite (22:47:25) j1m_ left the room (quit: Ping timeout: 255 seconds). (22:52:30) GriffenJBS: mjl, sorry for the delay, 3 of these work in the emulator, none seem to work on hardware http://65.8.52.40/nds (23:04:49) mjl-: GriffenJBS: ok! i'll try them soon, within the hour (00:29:08) hotaru2k3 left the room (quit: Quit: leaving). (00:34:34) mjl-: GriffenJBS: i'm getting 403's (00:34:42) mjl-: permissions wrong (00:34:47) mjl-: (sorry for the delay) (00:38:50) GriffenJBS: sorry, I threw them up and did test it, I should know better (00:38:59) GriffenJBS: s/did/didn't/ (00:43:50) Fish- left the room (quit: Quit: So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish).
