(16:16:53) sandbender1512: visof: been a while since I installed fresh but IIRC you need to use a 32 bit toolchain, might want to check that... I remember having issues compiling under a 64 bit env in the past (memory may be foggy) (16:17:16) sandbender1512: that's totally a while guess though (16:17:37) zutto: i'm pretty sure i compiled inferno just fine with 64bit tools (16:17:42) visof: sandbender1512: what pacakges should in install? (16:17:49) zutto: i may be wrong too, cant remember wether i installed 32bit tools too (16:17:54) visof: zutto: which distro? (16:17:57) zutto: opensuse (16:18:14) visof: zutto: if there are any 32 tools what should it be? (16:19:25) visof: http://pastie.org/8474729 zutto sandbender1512 (16:19:46) zutto: just install the required packages that you need, your package manager should give you option to install XXX-YY and XX-YY-32bit (16:20:04) ***sandbender1512 nods (16:22:01) zutto: visof: http://code.google.com/p/inferno-os/issues/detail?id=300 (16:22:05) zutto: seems to be same issue (16:40:19) visof: zutto: why are using inferno? (16:40:39) visof: why you guys use inferno? (16:40:53) zutto: i dont.. really use inferno (16:41:03) zutto: i just find it very intresting (16:41:28) visof: zutto: so you are using plan9 ? (23:12:33) anth_r: there are some people with serious apple alergies over there. they go all apoplectic. (23:13:06) anth_r: i have done so, but i don't regularly. i found the chain of srv+9pfuse+fuse to be too unstable. i was never sure where in the chain things were going bad. (23:13:50) anth_r: there's a 9p kernel drier fgb did. i used that for a while with good results, although i haven't beat on it too much. (23:18:00) anth_r: from memory, it's called mac9p. it's on one of the public repos, i think google code. (23:18:07) anth_r: i've not tried it with 10.9 (23:20:48) stewarj: thanks for the info and kindness ;) i was a little nervous about fuse again and saw mac9p. i'm on 10.9 so i'll throw caution to the wind and give it a spin (23:21:26) stewarj: btw, i'm still open to talk to georgia tech and georgia state u about gsoc (23:22:06) stewarj: my email is my name at gmail ( joseph stewart ) (23:22:15) anth_r: let me know how it works out. i have use for it, just haven't gotten around to it yet. (23:22:29) stewarj: (hopefully i just dodged spambots) (23:22:42) anth_r: and, to be fair, i've heard the 9pfuse chain has improved since i tried it, but i've not had incentive to go back. (23:23:03) anth_r: i'll keep the gsoc thing in mind. (23:24:04) anth_r: nice meeting you in person, too. (23:24:13) stewarj: same here!
