(17:22:39) mjl-: i can imagine inferno and limbo are hard to approach: so much is different from what you're used to.  limbo the language, inferno working as application or bare metal OS, all api's.

(14:13:52) mjl-: exactly, 9p over high latency links is pretty bad. that's why it's not so great across the internet. but it works well locally.
(14:15:25) mjl-: i'm actually considering switching to 9p for file storage for my (web) services, mostly written in go and java nowadays. a 9p client is easy to implement in a library and include in the program, no longer needing any local mounts (which are currently nfs, which is a pain to sysadmin)
